Re: Old ATG
Hi Tom, this is getting too complex! How do you feel about me posting you the whole lot (at my expense), you can then see if there are the missing ones for the club, then maybe take the rest to the next big meeting where people can arm wrestle for them? If this works I'll send them to the address in...

Old ATG
I’m having a clear out and have about 150 old ATGs going back to the 70s (a few copied A4 sheets!) If anyone wants them I’m in Penzance, could post them at cost but they’re quite heavy. Be a shame to just bin them.

Re: Reinstating the electric starter part 2
Thanks guys, the case I have looks like the camel one. I have been looking at pics of my old Morini K, the linkage looks the same but the casing I have is definitely deeper. So cutting back won't work, so the hunt for a roadster case continues. Attached are pics of my old bikes one and the one I hav...

Re: Reinstating the electric starter part 2
Standard K1 linkage, case is definitely different, am I right in thinking the customs were left hand shift, which may explain it. I believe the off-road bikes were more cut away but may well work.

Reinstating the electric starter part 2
Well all the electrics are working but....
It appears the customs have a different electric start casing, so the gear linkage fouls!
Does anyone have a spare standard electric start side casing?

Re: Best 31/2 cam for all-round flexibility?
In my sport, Phil Smith rebuilt it with sport pistons and an M cam, it was the strongest 3 1/2 I’ve ridden.

Re: Reinstating the electric starter
Thanks, yes the neg is a heavy duty one earthed to the crankcase, but I’ll check the resistance as it old. May just make all new ones.

Reinstating the electric starter
Hi, I'm thinking of reinstating the electric start. My K came to me without one, but following a bit of knee probs it seems a good idea. I think I have most of what I need in my stash, starter and cover from an Excalibur, which I'll clean out and top up, start button throttle from god knows where! C...

Re: Just stopped!
Quick update, West Country Windings rewound the coil, showing 308ohm. Back to normal now. It looked like there had been a shorting in the coil apparently.
As an aside, they are looking at scooter coils as a source for the bare bobbins as these get very brittle.

Re: Just stopped!
Thanks for the offer Julian, but I sent the stator off to be rewound. Also must update my account as I'm now in west Cornwall!
I'll post when I have the answer, thanks for the responses folks.

Re: Just stopped!
I was on a hill and tried bump starting for 800m, nothing.
Is it possible for the coil to just fail/short?
Fuel is feeding fine, I’ll strip the carbs. But I think a rewind is needed anyway after 65k km!

Just stopped!
Out last weekend and my '82 Strada (kickstarter) it just stalled and won't restart. This one is usually a 1-2 kick starter and runs really strongly... I have good sparks on both plugs, good compression, I've emptied the tank and put fresh fuel in, emptied the carbs and checked the jets, tried with t...
