Re: New stator needed
Thanks for the reply. I had a Little fire in the positive circuit and a I now only get 1/2 the normal ac volts from the stator. I have a NLM ignition and standard regulator, rectifier. I fitted a later stator last time I changed, without a white wire so therein is my confusion. I’m not sure about th...

New stator needed
Hi guys. My 78 Sport needs a new stator. Are there any alternatives to the stock item. They are quite rare and very expensive.

More charging questions
I have a 78” 3 1/2 with an alternator with 2 yellow, 1 white, and 1 green. Can I get help with connecting.
The book says there should be a red to the battery.
The white bled the fuse! I have good ac current from the wires. How to connect to the regulator?

Flat slides rotation
Silly question maybe but what’s the correct orientation for the square carburettor slides. Low side to filter or long side?

Re: Dished clutch plate missing
Thanks for all the input. I’m thinking I’ve made a mistake with the placement of the spacer. But I’ll be having it apart soon. I’ll follow up on the result.

Dished clutch plate missing
I don’t have the dished plate in my clutch. Does anyone also run without one? What could be the possible faults resulting? I’m suffering heavy gear change problems. Almost have to use force sometimes to get a gear and impossible neutral selection. It’s a ‘78 3 1/2 with a nylon clutch inner ring and ...

Mark3 pick-up and NLM cdi/coil set up
Dear Oracle. I have recently acquired a new black mark 3 pick up and magnet from Italy. I have also a new NLM cdi. I have learnt I must introduce a diode in the red wire if it had original transducers but is this true also with the NLM unit.
Any other tips welcome.

Resistor caps and NLM CDI and coils.
After a long time I’m now looking at my 350 sport with NLM cdi and coils. What resistor caps and plugs are recommended on a standard engine. All input gladly appreciated.

Clutch pushrod continues
Hi Guys. Having successfully solved my previous problem I notice I have a groove just below the head of the clutch pushrod at the basket end. Just where it goes through the seal. The bike has stood still sometime and I’m wondering if this is wear or as intended.
Thanks Mike

Re: Clutch push rod problems
After stripping the clutch and watching several Paul Compton you tube videos i found the problem to be quite a simple one of course. As i said the clutch actuating arm was making contact with the chain when pulled in so i assumed a clutch problem but found that i had assembled the drive sprocket aro...

Clutch push rod problems
After a total engine Rebuild on my 78 sport I have a problem with my clutch. My pushrods don’t seem to be long enough! I have the four rods and the last small rod only sticks out 6 mm so when I pull the lever the arm makes contact with the chain. All parts are new from NLM. I’ve heard some engines h...
