My Sport feels quicker than my Dart.
It's not.
Trust the stopwatch, not your feelings, they're too easy to fool.
Even a dynamometer can give you a false reading. There are very few that operate inside a wind tunnel.

I think you're running too lean. The Kanuguaro engine is pretty much Strada spec but with a slightly hotter ('E' ?) cam and higher compression. A Strada runs a 112 main jet as standard, while the Sport runs a 115. The Dart uses the same airbox as Kanguaro and Excalibur. Standard jet is 92, but just ...

Well, I didn't fit the barrels and did only pay £1100 for the whole bike. Although it had six months Tax and MOT it had almost nothing right with it. The airbox was in bits, the inlet stubs were loose in the MEZ ported heads, the exhaust system was loose and leaking at every joint. The barrels had ...

I don't think NLM have any 400 barrel kits left and they were something like £800. I think I have the last set they sold on one of my Darts. There's plenty of meat in the liners for boring out, but I'd be tempted to get barrels bored by the piston supplier, or at least get detailed advice about bor...

First meet
Just to put a toe in the water, I propose the first meet should be combined with the Shefford VMCC meet on the second Thursday (13th) of September. http://www.vmccbeds.co.uk/index.html Drop me an email; paul(at)compton(dot)vispa(dot)com or send a PM via the site if you're interested. The email addre...
The original specified oil was 20w50. Late specification; 10w40 semi synthetic (Sint AGIP 2000). I use 10w40 in all my morinis except the 250 twin (more of that later) whatever their age. If I get it cheap enough (BOGOF at Halfords) I use fully synthetic, if not it's semi-synthetic. One advantage of...

Camshafts wanted!
I'm after camshafts to used as exchange cores for re-grinds.
They need to be the 20mm base circle type as fitted to most (all?) 350 engines and the 250 twin.
Let me know what you've got.

If you really want to you can get hold of Arexons Motosil D from Italy! Hermatite instant gasket works fine and is a similar orange colour to give that 'untouched engine' look. Some poeple fork out a lot of money for something like Yammabond. Whatever you come to use the secret is don't use too much...

Alex at NLM has been working hard on my exhaust.
I've been up on two Fridays to help and take photos.

The silencers are universal reverse cone megas bought from ebay, but they're the same as those sold by Armours or Feked.

Well, first a couple of questions. How have the 501 pistons been fitted, since they use a different gudgeon pin diameter. Are you running them in iron bores? What cam are you using. Where did you find a pair of Comp. Lafranconis (I need to repair or replace mine). You've got such an oddball setup, y...

As I recall the difference between a 'BS' and an 'HS' is the presence of a vacuum takeoff port, which your description would seem to confirm. Some Morinis ran a balance pipe between the vacuum ports on the two carbs and it makes a convenient place to plumb in a set of balancing gauges. Originaly the...

I don't think it was a case of 'braking is more important' so much as different from British bikes i.e. a policy to protect Harley. They also had a rule that machines had to have a foot operated rear brake, which kept most scooters out. It's hard to imagine though who would be making a choice betwee...
