I think I have a spare key, if needed.

Re: 250 anybody?
This one is a bit sad. The provenance is rather lacking. I could understand if it were the bike that came second in the World Championships.

Re: Bottom end strip
Hi, 1. The nuts should be recessed in nut shaped holes. 2. You will probably need to drill out the crankshaft bolts if they do not yield. No idea from where they can be obtained. Re use the old ones if not damaged. 3. Use the special tools, the nut is ft (fantastically tight!). Butchering a socket w...

Re: Oil pump seal variation in sizes/mdina part different?
I have used the black one but I prefer the old green one. Check the green one carefully, obviously not worth the risk if it is worn.

250 anybody?
Does this increase the value of my Morini? A 250 single going for a ridiculous price, whatever next?

Don't discount importing an Excalibur from Spain, if you see one.

Re: Best 31/2 cam for all-round flexibility?
The Excretia had a J cam. The 501 with a J cam is a torquey beast but it starts getting wheezy at the top end. My 501 would pull well from 30 mph in 6th gear.

Re: Instrument bezels and glass
Hello, Ooh, that sounds useful. I have an idea of how to do it but a tool for the job would be better. Just need to sneak out to the garage to have a look. The rubber seal is intact, but it looks like it does a few jobs like hold the glass and seals around the edge of the instrument. The only place ...

Re: Refitting bezels
Hi Mike, I have had my Norton's 'Smiths' rev counter rebuilt and when refitting the bezel, the guy doing it used a lathe! Very cleverly mind you. He held the speedo body in a fixture in the chuck, a large 'pad' in/on the tailstock was used to hold the bezel in place, and a tool with a small bearing...

Re: Indicators
I have used earth's inside the headlight shell where the stems enter the shell. The headlight has an earth, or you can take an earth to the earth point on the frame. I assume the indicator shells are metal?

Re: Instrument bezels and glass
Mike, Doug at mdina does list a rubber seal and has stock currently https://www.mdinaitalia.co.uk/instrument-bezel-rubber.html however you'll probably want to check with him whether this is actually suitable for the 88mm veglia rather than the 90mm smiths bezels. What about considering using cord s...

Re: Instrument bezels and glass
How do you propose crimping your new bezels on, out of interest Mike? "following" haha Could you not order custom O rings (easily found on Fleabay) and use those in the absence of flat sealing rubbers? Hi Simon, That is the next project. The instruments have been repaired and the bezels a...
