Re: Aluminium head gasket

Sorry to hear it was the wrong kit, I guess they don't know their stock properly. Worth bearing in mind when Benjy Straw starts work on my engine. I will have to progress with trying to make my own head gasket then! Could you let me know the thickness of the gasket please?

Re: Aluminium head gasket

I'd be interested to hear how you get on. Sorry to use you as a guinea pig!
I did start measuring a 350 gasket to produce a dimension drawing for a 250 gasket. Should not be too hard to make some, just need the right grade of alloy.

Re: Paioli front forks

Finally back together. Best of 2 sets of fork legs used, hopefully I have the internals assembled correctly.

Re: Looking for a new LH fork leg

Another club member has sourced some replacement fork legs for me, in better condition than mine. So repaint and then reassembly happening now.

Re: Paioli front forks

Looking at the parts book and my video of taking the forks apart and I think this is the damper rod assembly:
If you know different, please let me know.

paoili fork top question

[attachment=0]2023 05 31 Right leg damper. My paoili fork tops have grub screws in them. One has no grub screw, but I found a small O ring in it. The other has a grub screw and spring. (see photo). Does anybody know what should be in the tops please?

Re: Looking for a new LH fork leg

Been in touch with Mdina and no luck. Yes have the correct size stanchions (new from Mdina). Thanks for comments, will keep looking. Have seen forks for the Benelli/Guzzi TS250 which look like they may fit. Lots of corrosion on the internals, pitting on the inside of the fork sliders. I think they h...

Looking for a new LH fork leg

I am rebuilding my 250 2c Paoili forks. Even with new stanchions I have too much play in the left hand (brake) leg. Does anyone have a spare LH leg complete, or just the aluminium lower, that I could buy? OR are there alternative forks that fit? Either legs in existing yokes, or a complete assembly?...

Re: Paioli front forks

Got the other leg apart and the bottom end fell off, so not spot welded. Just very rusty! Lots of rust pitting to clean up, but assume it will not make too much difference to the function of the forks.

Re: Paioli front forks

So one leg apart, what a rusty mess. Is it possible to take the damper rod assembly apart? One end looks peined over and the other looks like it has been spot welded.

Paioli front forks

Does anyone have a rebuild manual for the front forks on the 250? I am sure I can work out how to dis-assemble them from the parts diagram, but instructions would make it easier. Thanks
