2025 sees two milestone celebrations on the Isle of Man- The return of the classic TT, and also the 50th anniversary of the Morini RIders Club's founding on the island back in 1975.

THE MORINI RIDERS CLUB WILL BE CELEBRATING THERE IN 2025

• MRC gathering close to where we were founded (the Highlander) on SUNDAY 24th August 2025
  
  MRC meet-up for all Morini folk on the island Wednesday 27th August

Further plans and details will follow, but for now the important thing is to get booking your travel and accomodation

The green lane section have already begun the process of booking ferries and accomodation (23-30 August 2025 seems to be the preferred slot). I suggest you move quickly if you are keen on going, as things on the island are already starting to book up quickly.

We would like to see as many Morinis and Morini folk as possible.

The club won't be organising is as an event per-se, so it will be up to you to arrange accomodation and ferry crossings etc, but let us know your intentions and we will make sure everyone is kept in the loop for meeting up on the island.

It's probably a good idea to buddy up with people too, so use this forum post as an area to reach out to others who may be going, advice on bookings and reccomendations of where to stay etc, or send me a direct PM and I will do my best to help.

Umm, August 23rd is Saturday, and Sunday is 24th in my 2025 diary? and I believe there is racing on Sat 23rd.

Yes, quite right. This is why it's not me organising it

For clarity then-

- The dates for the classic TT are 20-29 August 2025

- The Morini Club will be meeting up on Sunday 24th and Wednesday 27th

- It is expected that the majority of us will be there from 23rd-30th August

Any morini folk coming and going during that week are very wlecome (encouraged) to join us

Should be a really enjoyable week, and a great way to celebrate the club's 50th. I may even persuade the treasurer to stump up for some cake.

Yep, right on all counts Redvee. The Green Lane bunch have already got 7 confirmed and likely more to come. We aimed for 23rd to 30th as it is Saturday to Saturday and would suit those still working normal week days. We then found we had to shorten our trip by one day as the return ferry is already full, this is because a lot of the competitors will be wanting to go home at the weekend-Sunday was full too! I checked this morning and there were still bike slots available on Saturday and Sunday but the prices are ramped up for the weekend sailings.
As Tom says, if you can travel on weekdays you will find more spaces available and the costs may well be lower too. When I originally looked into it I was hoping to go from Wednesday 20th but then found I couldn't afford 10 days accommodation!
Another good tip is to go as a couple, there are more double bed rooms available than singles so two people sharing a bed & room saves you money (per head) There are still flats and houses available around the island with 2 or more double rooms, if you book those along with other couples the savings are even better.
Camping is always an option and there are plenty of good campsites with decent facilities. This is also easy to book and available from about £10 per person per night.

The various whatsapp groups are now seeing interest expressed in the trip to the Isle of Man for Classic TT and our 50th anniversary. If you want to make the most of your trip there start casting around the wider membership for others to team up with. This way you can save a lot on good accommodation and not have to slum it in a tent! There are quite a few holiday houses and flats to rent that work out cheaper than most B&B or hotel options assuming you can get enough people to fill the available beds. There is of course the IoM Homestay scheme as well but check the registration of the owners! This 50th celebration is looking to be a big one!

Following up on your comments;

* Sunday of race week was the date that the MRC Founding Members got together. Admittedly it was the Mad Sunday of TT Week in 1975 and we're meeting at the Classic in August - but it's a more relaxed event and probably more in tune with what our 'small, friendly Club' does! It also gives us a little longer to do what we need to do in the way of arrangements. The inaugural meeting of those who were interested was at the Highlander Pub, which is now sadly closed, and so we are investigating the options there - we had a neat solution in 2015 for our 40th Anniversary and hope to be able to do the same again next year. [Any help from Island based members would be welcome on this...]

* Mid-week (subject to the way racing pans out this would be the Wednesday) we have previously met on the lower sea front at Port Erin in the early evening - there are some fantastic roads to ride to get there and back again, including going over the Fairy Bridge (see this years Calendar which features you!). For those new to the Island, don't forget to stop at the bridge to say hello to the fairies... An alternative is the sea front at Laxely, but this isn't as pretty and there are fewer café / pub choices for the inner rider.

Book your ferry ASAP, they are getting pretty booked up already!

As Redvee says you need to start making arrangements now. So once you know what free dates you have-get a ferry booked! Start checking the various digs available. The prices can vary a lot and a lot of the best places are booked already. Look for others to share with or possibly travel with as savings on the ferry can be had if you can get 2 or 3 bikes in a van (and on the ferry!)
It really does look as if the visitor numbers may be up this year since the revised schedule (close to the original! ) was announced. Has there been any chatter on the local to you groups? If not start the chatter yourself or you'll all miss the boat-literally!

We were wondering at the Warwickshire meet the other night about how many more were coming to the island for the clubs 50th. Have any more of you decided/booked yet?
We do know the Green Lane section will have 8 members stopping in Peel and that a few other members are planning to stop in other island locations. So far though I predict a majority Green Lane turnout! Please speak up if you're coming over.

Myself and partner will be over so at least one other Morini there. (not sure what he is planning on taking)

I was over on the island for a few days last week and busy with leading another club around. I dropped in at the Highlander (now a private house) to ask permission for our reunion photo. Sadly there was no-one at home so I left a note, BUT! it would be great if one of our Manx resident members could try again for us-we do still have some don't we?

Hi all, especially Tom who’s enabled me to use the forum.
I’m an IoM resident (Peel), and may be able to help if anyone has problems at the Manx.
I’m going to try to make contact with the owners of the Highlander to ask about a photo shoot.
If any (most?) of MRC members are in the VMCC, the Manx Rally is definitely worth doing, and we could have a group within that.
I’m biased, but Peel is a great spot for lining up on the prom!
