Intake rubbers

Can anybody throw any light onto why the rear carb to intake rubber will not stay in the airbox with popping out it looks the wrong shape unless its stayed like that because its sat wro g for so many years.
I have ordered a new one as this one is almost split all the through any way any hep appreciated Thanks barney

It looks like the carb could do with going a little bit to the right (in the photo). Difficult to balance all the needs of cable routing, tilt, orientation on rubbers both side of the carb, etc to make everything fit it can be hard I know. I have most success with the tank off and the rocker covers off. And when I remove all traces of anything slippery from the carbs and rubbers and airbox. Four places to adjust and so many permutations to try. Good luck.

I does look like it from the picture, it must be due to the angle I took it I can assure you it is up right,I will try again when the new one arrives

New intake rubber arrived Today but doesn’t fit any different than the old one, the right hand carb one fits fine, any body else got any suggestions please ?
