Hi,
I have recently moved to Italy from UK and am slowly restoring and registering my bikes over here. I have had no problems getting CoCs for the Laverda and Moto Guzzi as I simply wrote to the Manufacturers directly, or Piaggio in the case of the Laverda, and they sent me the required documents for a price. fair enough I say.
I am not having much joy with my 1976 Morini 350 Strada as Morini are not replying to my requests and none of the online sites (that deal with this sort of thing) list Moto Morini as an option.
If anybody has found a way to get a CoC to import from UK to the EU or Italy specifically I would greatly appreciate your help.

Hi,
This might be a very long shot but the records of Moto Morini were transferred to Cagiva in 1987, since Piaggio were able to help with Laverda perhaps Cagiva (MV Agusta) can help with historic Moto Morini. I don't think the new company of Moto Morini now under Chinese ownership would have any records.

In France, if you have no CoC, it’s difficult too. The easiest option for most of the earlier models is to register as a Véhicule de Collection via the FFVE. It’s an easy process, but the vehicle must be at least 30 years old. I think there is a similar organisation in Italy. I presume you have tried using the original Homologation number on the chassis plate ?

Good luck. I think it will get harder and harder to register old bikes. I do like the DVLA idea of not needing one for a bike over a certain age. I think you were lucky to get the certificate for the Laverda as I believe the records were destroyed in a fire. Is it a Zane era 668/750?

I’m not sure if that’s what you would need to register in Italy?
It would definitely be worth contacting the Italian Morini club or the FMI https://www.federmoto.it/ as they will have knowledge of the Italian process.

Thanks to you all for your suggestions. I am sure I got what I needed from https://www.revisioniautoblog.com/omosh ... to/morini/ and if not I have only lost €25 not £125 as some sites were asking just to investigate.
I must admit I enjoyed trawling the Italian Morini Owners club site, they are quite an excitable bunch when they get a topic between their collective teeth. I may have to join.
The process for (effectively) importing a motorbike is very bureaucratic and, as I have done the process many times now, I find it best to leave it to the experts. I use an `Auto Agenzia' in my local town. She does all the paperwork with the DMV and arranges a safety inspection,all I provide is the old V5c and the Certificate of Conformity. Sometimes the DMV ask for a bill of sale so they can charge VAT but I always say I don't have one and that is the end of it.
After the safety check which can vary greatly depending on time and day. The inspector virtually dismantled my Guzzy but did not even check the lights on the Laverda (which is a Zane 750 Formula by the way). Within a week or so I receive the new log book and number plate, all done!
Hopefully I should be registered before April and then I will register the bike with the Autoclub Storico Italia (ASI) as a historically significant bike. This gives me access to Historic Insurance' and reduced road tax. If all goes well then I may be taking my Weenie Morini on the Milan-Taranto rally next year, I shall keep you posted.
