Electronic fuel tap rubber membranes

Post by Fastmongrel »

Is there any news on the production of new electro tap rubber membranes. I would happily buy two if that helps with costs.

Thanks for asking, and yes, we are committed to producing a batch and this is now in full swing, with tooling designed and material spec agreed.

The club has paid for the tooling (quite an investment which we are grateful to the club for) and the sample parts should be with us by the end of the month. We will then conduct a test program to make sure we are 100% happy, after which we will be able to kick off the first batch.

It is definitely happening and these will be available in the spring.

Fantastic news. I didn't realise it was so complicated to organise it all sounds so easy on the internet.

So, another update on these.

They’re now in production. They will be available in time for the club’s rally in June (where you can also see the test rig) and will also be on sale via the club products page by the end of June.

A great outcome, and well done to the club for putting in the money and effort to produce these.

These are now available to buy via the club products page.

Anyone at the rally will have had the opportunity to see the fuel tap test rig, but for those who missed it, check out the video- tap on the left is the new diaphragm, and on the right is an original.

Head over to the products page and secure your diaphragm now! Don't forget, members get a 10% discount by entering their 2024 membership discount code at the checkout.

Does anyone have a breakdown of the electronic fuel tap internals.
I have checked the rubber membrane only to find I haven’t got one.

Here you go Paul.

This is a scabby one in need of a clean up (and a new club diaphragm!)

The diaphragm is not symmetrical- there is a domed face with a little recessed hole in the centre and a side that looks like a moat running around a raised island.

The raised island is the pad which seals against the fuel inlet, so faces the fuel. The dome and little recessed hole face the solenoid.
