Paintshop recommendations wanted

Post by Runout »

Hi, I've got a 3 1/2 sport that needs a dent fixing in the tank and a new paintjob. Does anyone have any recommendations for good people? I'd rather use someone that I know is good if possible. I'm located in Gloucester but can travel or post as required.
Many thanks.

Hello Runout.

Welcome to the Forum.

For dent removal I can recommend Motorcycle Dent Removal in Pickering, Yorkshire.
https://www.motorcycledentremoval.co.uk/

For paint, Alan Fox in Birmingham.
https://www.alanfoxpaintworkservices.co.uk/

Both these recommendations come from friends in the Vintage and Classic MotorCycle Club who are very particular about the quality of their machines.

Please note that Alan Fox may have a long waiting list so it would be worth contacting him early on. Note also that two Morini riders have written testimonials on his website.

Good luck.
Jenny.

By the way, I sent an email to one of my friends this afternoon, mentioning your enquiry about tank repair and paint. He has just written back...

Hi Jenny,

Yes, Andy at https://www.motorcycledentremoval.co.uk/ is a “go to” when things are bad, as he can work wonders, but he isn’t cheap (what is nowadays?). His work is excellent, and he doesn’t take forever either.

Alan, well you have seen his work, it speaks for itself. He has had an operation on his foot and will be out of action until about early to mid-July, which may work out well with the dent removal.

(PS It is worth a drive to the dent removal man, as you can make a day of it visiting Pickering, Thornton-le-Dale (Bangers and Cash fame) and even drop in to York as well. It is a long drive otherwise).

Thanks Morini Jen, I'll message them with some photos.
I've got a follow up question regarding tank badges, but that's 1/2 specific so I'll post in in there.
