Pillion rails

Finally sorted out a deal on a set of panniers for the bike..the matching Alu Exec ones to the top box..Had a bit of fun fitting them as there were no instructions in the box 
I noticed when fitting the left hand rails that the left side pillion grab rail was badly scorched and discoloured.although not visible until you remove it I am concerned that it will become brittle and could break whilce a pillion is holding on
I am booked in for the speedo head replacement to cure the fuel gauge fault, so might try for some new rails at that time..for those who carry pilions worth a quick look
