1200 REAR Brake Master Cylinder Brembo

Post by BumbleBee »

Hi All, the rear brake master cylinder on the 1200 looks like it needs a rebuild kit. The rear brake keeps filling with air soon after every time I bleed it. Then this last time it doesn't want to pump hardly any fluid at all when I tried to bleed it. This is a 1200 Milano but it looks kinda like the rear master cylinder on other 1200/650 Morinis and it wouldn't be a surprise to see it was the same unit. I'm trying to track down a brembo repair kit but I've no idea of the part number (for master cylinder or rebuild kit). Can anyone help?
The unit has 8F07x11 stamped on the body.

Thanks, I gave them a try and very helpful but unlucky they don't stock Brembo. I'm going to try info@addictionmotorsport.co.uk (a random choice) who seem to stock Brembo parts for modern bikes.

Give Addiction Motor Sport a call, as they sell 11mm rear master cylinder repair kits they may be able to help decipher the code.

I think you are lucky in that the Milano was made in Italy, so probably would be Italian parts. Not sure if the new Morinis have Chinese made components.

I do wonder whether the rear master cylinders are repairable.

If you look on the Brembo website only the pads are available for a Milano.

Yes I had spotted that. I would have asked them direct except their "support" facility on the website doesn't work, not for motorcycles anyway.

They have a weird thing where they will not sell kits to some markets. Probably for liability reasons. I’m sure they are available somewhere.
