clutch casing covers old and new

noticed that the later clutch alloy casing cover has a sound deadening plate (large disc) fitted inside , which the earlier models didn't have. Must have been an attempt to cut down on mechanical noise. Looks a bit like a metal saucer slightly concave.

Another thing i didn't realise was that the crankcases are predrilled and tapped to accept two sizes of starter motor. The larger size (about 1/2 inch longer in length) for the corsaro and the smaller size for the scrambler and i assume the avio etc.

Obviously the larger starter is due to the increased compression on the corsaro or veloce.

Another bit of useless information :?

Not useless at all! It can become handy at the right time!

i bought the new casing cover for my `07 corsaro, but I couldn`t detect a difference in the noise. the waterpump is working louder.
