It lives at last
It's taken 15 months but at last I can be a member of the forum and include the rider part.
Here's how it looked
After a bit of work
I'm at the ridding and tuning stage now it takes me back to a time when you could get back on the road with a packet of cigarette papers and a screwdriver .
It's a interesting bike to ride it loves to get thrown into corners preferably with maximin revs applied any thoughts of this bike helping to preserve my licence have disappeared.
the rear wheel was out of true and spokes were starting to furr up so I decided to take them to a wheel builder for new spokes polish rims and hub clean. With the brake disk disided to leave alone it will clean up on the road
Now the bit I was dreading the wiring .haveing never done it before apart from the odd plug I started small with the switch gear. My one saving grace was I had something to copy I took my time and bought some good wire stripers and crimpers.
Silencers were prity rusty with holes in them down pipes also rusty might have been able to pach up but by the time I got them re chromed would be the same price for new item
Next the tank and side panels sent away for respray .bought seat from Italy .
The brake master cylinder piston was shot and couldn't find parts so North lestershire motorbikes had brand new complete master cylinder . I was able to rebuild the caliper with new seals ect
