While recommissioning my K1 Sport I'm considering swapping the after-market round headlamp for the rectangular type it had when new.
I've seen a few used ones online but does anybody know:
1. Are the ones fitted to our off-roaders the same unit? (Could I also consider a Kanguro unit?)
2. Are they RHD-LHD specific or can the dipping side be adjusted with the screws I've seen around the rim? My present one is a UK/NZ LH dip.
Sing out if you have a nice one to sell, please.
Cheers,
Dom

Re: Rectangular headlamp questions
The shell is a cev 40687 so if you search for that you’ll find them listed for other bikes of the era and so widen your search from just Morini.
I can’t remember the headlamp glass part number off the top of my head but I’ll dig it out.
I’m not aware of there ever being a version with a dip for us who drive on the left. It’s not an excessively kicked beam so i don’t for example get flashed by drivers coming the other way at night.
It’s a different headlamp to that on my kanguro x0. It could be the same or similar to an x2 or x3 headlamp I suppose but I wouldn’t say for sure without a side by side comparison.

Re: Rectangular headlamp questions
The road 350/500 and X2/X3 Camel/Kanguro rectangular headlights (P45T bulb) are the same unit and can easily be converted see forum link below

The similar later H4 headlight unit fitted to the Excalibur and the smaller rectangular Bosch type headlight of the XO/X1 Kanguro,
cannot be converted in this way
Good luck, Ian

Re: Rectangular headlamp questions
Thanks Tom and Ian, that's all useful. All I have to decide then is all-black or chrome rim.

Re: Rectangular headlamp questions
If I hadn’t sold my K1 rectangular headlight I could have stuck it it my son’s luggage as he is on his way to the South Island (but close enough.)
My Concave Cibie is very good so I’d never go back.

Re: Rectangular headlamp questions
Thanks for the offer, it is near enough but I think NZ post would probably charge as much as Royal Mail to get it here from there!
I am not riding much at night now so won't be relying on it, in any case. I have a Hella H4 at the minute but felt like a change.
