Carb settings.

Hi All,

Well I'm not quite ready to try starting the bike for the first time but before I do can someone give me an idea of what a good initial setting would be for the idle and pilot screws? I diligently noted how far out the screws were when I stripped the carbs - but on one carb the screws were nearly fully in while the other had them nearly fully out. I'm not an expert but somehow that doesn't seem right...

Many thanks
Richard

One and a half turns out from fully in for the mixture screws.

Throttle stops equally in far enough to hold the slides up a smidgen but not too much. You can do a finger prod or dangling stick approach to get the slides rising together when opening the throttle. Probably worth erring on the not too far in side. It will probably need at least one starter jet open to get it going the first time so the idle speed adjustment is a bit notional until warmed up.

Once running, there is no substitute for a manometer carb balancing session IMO.
