Hello, me again...
I am also refurbishing the fuel cap. Can anyone tell me if the front locking catch should have a spring? Picture below. Mine does not. My tank being painted so I can't fit it to see if it works without one.

Found some spring steel to use and now sorted.

I was rather hoping you were going to source bits or a replacement cap as his fuel cap catch doesn't.
