Four fine 250 2C's at the MRC 2024 Rally

Post by julianharty »

Some of you already know this as you were at the rally :) Anyway, I counted 4 250 2C's at this weekend's MRC Rally including a beautiful wire-wheeled bike from near Salzburg, Austria. There are at least 5 or 6 more 250 2C's owned by people at the Rally so that means these fine bikes are still relatively popular and importantly being ridden and enjoyed :)

For anyone who came on a 250 2C how about adding your trip report?

PS: I ended up coming on my Kanguro to join the Green Lane Group's ride out. More news of my 250 2C when I've finished wiring the loom in.

It was good to meet you Julian and you'll be pleased to hear, I rode home in grand style on my new seat :-)

I thought the 2C was a fairly rare bike when I got mine, but I personally know of at least another 6 that weren't there, so they must have been sold in reasonable numbers. I don't know how many of these are imports, but I was told they weren't popular in Italy. Mine came to me as a result of some miscommunication and I wasn't best pleased at the time. Now, I'm very slightly in love with it and it's handling continues to amaze me. I'm hanging on to it as it's so light, I'll hopefully be able to ride it into my dotage, once the Guzzi gets to heavy for me.

With the SWF ignition, it cruised down the M11 from Cambridge at a steady 70mph with me, the tent and luggage on with no drama at all. I'm already looking forward to the run ti next year's rally!

A bit late but I'll add my two pennies' worth. I am amazed that my recently rebuilt bike made it all the way there and back again with no problems. Also chuffed to bits with all of the compliments, thank you. Thoroughly enjoyed meeting other owners and comparing notes. Very useful, as well, as it has given me a lot of tips and ideas for mine. Hope to see any of you in the future. I am in the Brentwood area if any of you want a trip out for a beer or cup of tea, you will be more than welcome.
