Wayward rev counter.

Post by Pat »

The Rev counter on my 78 350/500 previously reliable, has today started to flip right round to 10,000 rpm once it's gets past (a genuine) 6,000. The engine is raving normally, just the rev counter acting strangely. It seems normal and accurate below 6,000. Any ideas gents? Thanks.

Also try it on the other transducer but it's often as Ralph said, contacts.

Ta for letting us know how you went on,
when mine did it I at first thought it was
the clutch slipping.

Luckily I wear a pisspot helmet so could tell it wasn't the clutch slipping. So reliant on the rev-counter as the speedo is more like a windscreen wiper. Cheers.
