Replacement Instruments
Has anyone any experience of substituting instruments and warning lights on early Stradas? My revcounter is inaccurate (of course) and the speedo is in kilometres. I have seen combined speedos and revcounters advertised where the revcounter is CDI ignition triggered and which have warning lights built in so, on the face of it, with a suitable bracket it would be possible to ditch the present set-up for a more streamlined look but with the possibility of returning everything to original if wanted. Has anyone pursued this? Thanks.
Re: Replacement Instruments
Although I still have mechanical instruments on one of my bikes, I now fit Smiths chronometric instruments built up to suit, for reliability, serviceability and cheapness.
Re: Replacement Instruments
Hi, I've been thinking along the same lines, the clocks on my project bike are a bit shabby. It's a K Strada and lacks the simplicity of the earlier machines. Having stripped the clock off today as a start to rebuilding the front end, I stepped back and thought "that would look good without them", so I'd be interested if you go down this route.
