My 3.5 is a very recent acquisition and I quickly discovered metal shielded bearings get rusty, even the one on the speedo drive side which had its inner shield removed!
I've now replaced them with rubber shielded ones and thought I'd share my experience!
Old hands will know the one on the disk side pops out easily - the one on the speedo drive side is a right b?????d.
NLM assured me it would come out eventually, but would remove some of the ali from the wheel hub as it came out. After some serious hammering and very little movement I decided if I continued this way there was a big risk of 'bursting / splitting' the speedo drive gear ring. To avoid this I used my dremel to grind back the inner hub very slightly to provide some relief as the bearing came out.
If I'm teaching granny to suck eggs I apologise.

Re: Front Wheel Bearing Replacement - 78 3.5 Strada
I don't recall I had too much trouble when I did mine.Maybe my hammer was just right. I heated the hub with a lot of boiling water. I got sealed stainless bearings from my local gearbox centre, which were introduced after a liason with dry ice. At least they're not taper roller bearings.
