I recently acquired a petrol tank and decided to repaint both. I only have facility for spray cans but then that's all I have ever had since 1975 so know no better and I am well practiced in holding my breath!
What cracked me up was the lack of resistance to petrol of a number of different lacquers, due no doubt to the change in formulation of the paint over the years.I am sure I am not saying anything new here.
Anyhow joy of joys because I did get hold of some cans with a pin in the base which when pulled releases activator into the can. Normal service resumed. Even that little fly that always lands on the paint kept away. Not perfect but good enough for me.
