Morini finally arrived....

Hi,

Finally Morini arrived; no drum brakes (wallet not deep enough) - a '78 Strada - but seems to be in good-ish fettle, not concours - some patina, some non-original bits it appears too {no electric fuel tap, stainless downpipes pair of Sito silencers and maybe lots more (although I am no expert).

It felt like meeting an old friend. Seems to be true if you get bitten by the Morini bug it stays with you.

Think I will be busy with solvol for a while....although may find myself riding it rather than polishing it.





(In preview the pics seems to be chopped off - honestly it's a whole bike! )

Although the seat seems quite 'soft' (wonder if the foam has given up a bit - or it could be too many pies ) I find this style of seaat easier than the Dart (from a few yrs ago).

When do club members get to see it? Cadwell or before ~ where are you and where's the nearest centre? {assumng that you're in the UK, of course!!!)

Hi Mark,

Bikes looks well.
I have a 77 Strada in silver but was most likely red originally just like yours.
Demand always out strips supply so you will not regret buying this classic Morini.
You enjoy, plenty of time to polish and ride particularly when the bike uses so little fuel.
See if you can get along to the track day and rally weekend. If you don't go on track, plenty to see and do.

Congrats Mark,

She looks like a nice clean bike with a fair amount of originality.

Enjoy riding her, they are a fun bike.

I was lucky I found a very low mileage 3 1/2 Sport late 1973/74 model with the drum brakes at avery good price.

I am just waiting on some Dellorto parts, needles and seats as they have coroded a bit. Then I am planning on taking mine for a decent ride to enjoy. Sadly I have to wait till the parts arrive from Italy, another 2 weeks, same from the UK, wish I could find some in Australia.

Never mind enjoy the bike.

Looks good-I imagine much more comfortable than my Sport.And the manual fuel tap will not restrict fuel flow like the electric one can . Nor will your downpipes rust.
