electronic tacho

Post by bob.fuller »

The electronic tacho on my strada seems to be faulty. It was OK if a little erratic, then one day nothing. The grounding is OK 12.5 volts are getting through to the instrument and there is a signal from the ignition and so I have to assume its the instrument itself at fault. Does anyone know of any outfit undertaking rectification of these units. Bob.

There aren't many people who'll service Veglia instruments. Unless the situation has changed, I don't know of any who'll touch the electronic ones. The chip inside is very long obsolete, not even showing up on the surplus market.

A new driver board wouldn't be hard to make, either analogue or uProcessor based, but it's not likely to make it onto my list of projects any time soon.

There are electronic hobbyists all around the country. You might be able to find someone who can help you out. See if there's a local 'Hackspace'.
