Rear Chain

You can tell I have been riding BMW's since 1978 can't you.The rear chain on my 350 appears to become slack after only a 100 miles or so,and this at still running in speeds. No I am not 140Kg!
I have cleaned and sprayed this offensive item but maybe its trying to tell me something. The sprockets look good, at least for the moment.
What is the spec of the chain of choice these days. I am still marvelling at being able to select all my gears and sometimes even neutral without alarming clunks.
Who dares mention BMW gearboxes?

Hi,

This could depend on the quality of chain fitted, I fitted a cheaper chain to a previous bike and it lost tension alarmingly quickly. On my Kanguro I fitted a standard duty DID 530 chain and it has kept its tension well over the last 500 miles.

Regards

Robin

Best thing I did several years ago was to junk the 530 - its far too heavy for a piddling 350 - go for new chain and sprockets a 520 O-ring chain and don't look back. Chain adjustment - virtually never.

Think it all came from B&C Express.
