Hey guys,
things are going well with riding my morini, i love it to pieces.
i have decided to change the oil, my book says gtz 2 oil. But when i google that, there seems many different types.
what do you guys use specifically? I don't want to get the wrong one.
i have had the bike for about 3 weeks or so now and it has always started first time,
however, yesterday it just wouldn't start on the electronic start. I had to kick start it.
battery needs charging?? What could be wrong?
Also, is there an east midlands section that meet up?

Re: some questions re oil and starter
I would use any 10/40 mineral or semi synthetic motorcycle oil.

Re: some questions re oil and starter
Some people here advocate use the cheapest oil (Halfraud's) but change it regularly - 2.5 litres too, but you knew that!
Starter could be a few things so make sure your battery is new or charged so you can discount that from the list of possible causes. Could be relay, switch, earthing, a few contenders.
Cheers,
Dom

When I used mineral oil I had to adjust the valves quite often, since going to
10/40 semi synth it as never needed adjustment in 10,000 miles.

Helfrauds 10/40 semi synth works for me, too.

Now then, the East Midlands section? How much do you like drinking beer???benshannon wrote:Hey guys,

As the others said regarding oil, 10/40 or 20/50 will do fine and no need for any fancy expensive stuff either-just change it regularly and avoid short journeys, go for a proper ride!

The starters are a sort of weak spot, and they do need a bit more maintenance than most others. If you have a look around this forum I'm sure EV Guru Paul has made a video about this job. They can work well enough then but a decent battery in good condition is definitely needed.
Also, is there an east midlands section that meet up?
They meet monthly in Burton on Trent and it usually involves a pint or several. The regulars stop over! Maybe there is an excuse to start a section for lazy slob lightweight drinkers (like me) in a nice village pub (like my local) I will now sit back and wait for John Parbury to give me some grief!
