have just bought a relatively cheap 3.5 and haven't yet got a manual I have a few questions that may make me look foolish but here goes
1 does anyone know where a manual can be aquired- is there one on the web?I
2 the bike was sold as a strada but seems to have the s stamp at the base of the front barrel- the frame and engine numbers match as 16306 and it has a steering damper fitted - how else can I check if it is a sport?
3 what fuel should I be using?
4. the bike lost its way around 60 mph but it is possible I was being very careful on the way home and wasn't prepared to ride it as hard as it needs to be ridden to get it up to the right rev band for higher speeds.
5. should it really be that loud?
i am going to go over the bike setting up then basics - carbs , tappets, timing is there anything i should look for as a potential disaster - the bike does seem to be in reasonable condition

Welcome to the wonderful world of Morini!,i'll try and answer your questions in the order that you put them;

1)Workshop manuals are available from NLM (north leicester motorcycles),but if you don't fancy paying full wack ,try ebay.
2)The sport did indeed have an 'S' stamped at the base of the front barrel,externally the Strada/sport engines are identical,the only true way of determining is to pull the engine apart ! ,the sport has a lumpier cam ,also with the 'S' on it.But if truth be known the difference between the two bikes is'nt that great.The sport is slightly faster ,but the Strada has a better spread of usable power.
3)I usually use super-unleaded (98 ron) in my Sport,with an octane booster,millers etc.but it will run quite happily on normal unleaded.
4)You will need to use the full rev range to to make it feel right,they thrive on revs.
5)Not usually too loud ,does it have a 2-1 system on it?

The only real crucial area is the cambelt ,if your not sure when it was last changed ,then change it.,regular oil changes are also highly recommended,ie 1000 miles.
