Tacho and Lucas Rita Ignition

A guy I work with asked me if I had any experience connecting an electronic tacho to Lucas Rita electronic ignition. As my Morinis are all pretty much standard I couldn't help.
He is an electrical/instrument guy by trade so has tried most things himself. Any suggestions?
