Hello all,,, the 350 Morini equaled the Bonneville National record for gasoline pushrod 350cc motorcycles of 121 mph running today on the El Mirage lakebed….
It was a beautiful day with mild temps and soft breezes . The lakebed was smooth and hard to the finish line and the run went spectacularly well. After the finish line I hit a "bad spot" at about 100 mph and caught some air under the wheels for a bit…. The chassis took it in stride like nothing happen at all….These are very well behaved bikes.
Fresh race gas, new sprockets and chain. and new (lighter) "V" rated tires made the + 2 mph difference from last month's run of 119.167 mph….
The Morini is now within 1 mph of the fastest speed ever posted anywhere by a gasoline powered pushrod 350cc motorcycle….
It is just a matter of time…..
