Can anybody recommend a way to take off the ignition pickup? Mine is stuck fast and no amount of plus-gas or WD40 seems to have any effect.

Its the magnet which I cant pull off the camshaft, there seems to be nothing to grip.I have tried to lever off the whole assembly but no luck so far.Any advice would be much appreciated. :?

Cannot think of a reason for this other than loctite by a previous owner. Do you have a mechanical or electronic tacho?

A mechanical tacho is fitted to the bike.I have had trouble undoing nuts and bolts on this engine which is from a Kanguro. From the dirt on the engine I think it has been used off road.

After struggling for two weeks to remove the pickup I have now drilled small holes in the aluminium centre section of the magnet and broken it off in pieces. There seems to be some corrosion on the camshaft which prevented it coming apart. In future I will put a smear of "copper ease" to hopefully prevent this happening again.
