Clutch centre difference

Post by Steve Brown »

Please see my reply on the seized nuts post in the 350 forum. I am guilty of spreading the rumour that the clutch centre hub is the same on both.
Well it isn't. You probably know already, sorry if I have mislead anyone.

Are you sure?

I thought the difference was the input shaft on the 500 is beefier and the sleeve is different, but the hub is the same.

Oops, just seen your other post.

How would the plates be the same if the centre hubs were different?

It's just the diameter of the inner splined part.(where it fits on the gearbox mainshaft) That is a half a tad grosserer in a daimetrical sort of way. Ish. The rest is the same hence no trouble swapping plates. I can't believe I got away with it so long.

Yes, I worked it out in bed last night. Instead of dreaming of Kylie Minogue, I dream of Morini clutch centres!

Good to have it confirmed.
