Is the stock front sprocket 14 tooth ?
Searched but cannot find it.
Regards, Ross.

Yes. Standard is a 530 chain.
Your choice, but a '520' chain is a sensible option- means you can run o-ring chain.
You probably found out, but the rear sprocket standard is 38 teeth.

So if I get a 520 front sprocket, and get an o ring chain, will the rear sprocket work with them ? I have no idea what is on the rear as I dont have the bike yet.
How available are the rears ?
What do most people go with ?
Appreciate any advice..
Cheers.

Hi Ross,
If you go the '520' route, you would need a new rear sprocket as well.
For your info, the numbers for the chain refer to the pitch (distance between rivets) and width (where rollers are) in units of 1/8inch. E.g. a'530' Is a 5/8" pitch, 3/8" wide chain.
A 520, being a 14" wide chain needs the corresponding thinner sprocket.
OK, an o- ring chain technically might sap a little power, (not that I have ever noticed) but at least you can ride all day and not worry about adjustment. That's my experience anyway.
Regards,
George
