Looking at the bike and thought I would change the ht leads they are the originals by the look of it they are really tight in the transducers , I presume they twist onto the screw in the transducer not wanting to force it but as if super glued in , are the copper ht leads standard size eg like the old car type we used to use or do I need specific type , the bikes not ageing as badly as I am ! Must have lie down.

Yes, they should be screwed onto a spike in the transducers, and yes you can use regular car type HT leads-but stick with copper cored stuff of course!

Thanks Steve for info , just wasn't sure before i took the mole grips to it got one lead out with screw intact in the transducer , phew! New copper leads on the way. Thanks muller

Careful to get some with the right outside diameter for the water seals on the transducers. I recently bought some and it was much smaller and would have let the rain in badly. I don't like pushing the bike home just because it rained

I use Dow Corning DC4 around the transducer and spark plug cap boots to aid in waterproofing. Granted I don’t ride in the rain much but it’s a peace of mind and every little bit helps

Thanks will take note , got the ht leads out with no damage thankfully sprayed a bit of wd40 in there it helped to shift the rust build up in there , forty years is a long time and to be fair they are still useable but will replace . Just shows morini electrics are not as bad as the bike magazines keep reminding us . Ta muller.

I don't know where the "meeja" dreamed up the bad electrics idea. Morini were no different to the other european and japanese bikes of the period. No worse no better.
