import is easy for EU countries...
Shipping can be a bit of a problem, cheapest way is probably:
* leaving your car at the UK side of the ferry
* persuading the seller to meet you at the ferry docks in FR
* there you do the deal
* floating back to the Uk with the bike wher eyou put it on your trailer to take it home

... or drive with trailer to onwer's house and do the deal...

unfortunately, I have too many bikes, apparently, whatever that means.....

Can't see a problem with importing them, but they're much more expensive than you could pick up the same machines in the UK. I sold an early Strada last year for £1450 - not an easy thing to move on at all. Admittedly it wasn't quite as good as the one in your link, but it would have been perfect with another few hundred spent.

Forget NLM or any other Italian specialist - there are a number of these machines floating around on the private market for less than a couple of grand - you just need to be patient.

Just about all these Italian machines are more expensive abroad than they are in the UK - unless you know who to talk to in Italy that is... Then again most of the larger capacity machines were for the export market.

Totally agree with David. Nlm seem to sell at what are frankly ludicrous prices which do not reflect the true state of the market.
My own,admittedly imperfect strada is attracting virtually no interest. If that is the case on a site geared for the needs of enthusiasts then what chance is there on the open market?
I think I will remove my listing the silence is deafening!!

Unfortunately, this site is a fairly poor place to sell machines - not quite sure why. John's (Buell1203) Strada would make a jolly good project for someone looking for an early machine and it will end up costing a lot less than the Strada NLM currently have for sale.

John, from my experience of selling things, including a bike, on Ebay, photographs work wonders. Some good pictures might help generate more interest here. Some idea of how much you're looking for would also help: maybe £xxx and it's yours, or I'm looking in the region of £yyy, please call to discuss.

Very true but I cannot get the photo to load. I have indicated that I would send e mail pics.this tends to weed out the dreamers.

As for price. I will not get back what I have spent hence the open to offers suggestion.

All irrelevant as it is no longer for sale. I take the view that if there is no interest within a week then the ad should be withdrawn as experience has led me to realise that is when the really low bids start as buyers think a seller will be anxious to sell. I am not.

I only advertised it as following a heart op I realised i am unlikely to use all the bikes I have and was rationalising the collection thereby creating space. Money was not my priority.

While I think this forum is fairly poor for selling machines, I think you would need to follow Mark's advice and put photos and a price John. It often takes quite a few weeks to generate interest since many are infrequent visitors.

I hang around on a guitar forum and the same thing is always said there and it does make a huge difference, but that forum is also a poor place to sell unless you've got a bargain on offer.

I hate to admit it but eBay really is the best marketplace. While it's not the machine for me at the moment, I think that your bike would make well over a thousand on eBay. A really rough early Strada got to £686 the other day and I would think that your machine would make more than twice that. Put a reserve on it, someone will be exited at the prospect of finishing-off what will be a very nice little bike - shame to let it gather dust in your garage!

You forgot this 500. Seems pretty good but is not fully assembled but pieces are there!! Not too far from Dijon!!!

Frankly that's an absolutely mad price for what looks like a slightly scruffy machine - these regularly turn-up for less than £2K in GB.

Thanks David but I will not be using eBay. Too many idiots wasting time for my liking. I actually paid more than 1k on e bay 3 years ago for this machine and you know what work has been done since.

It is a nice bike and will make an excellent machine but it is no longer for sale.

It might as well sit in my shed as another. In ten years time the market may be significantly better. Who knows?

My problem is that if we do not use them then the spares and the specialist engineering services wont be available. It is great that we can go to NLM and get parts off the shelf.

A Morini needs to be ridden, I don't want a museum piece.

Just my thoughts.
