Which year or style are you looking for?
I have a late style tank from a K series bike (slips over spigots on the frame at the front, rather than bolted on).
I also have a perfect pair of Shapecraft early rounded side panels. See this link..

Hello Morini Jen,
I am in need of an early Strada fuel tank , but they seem very rare. I might be interested in adapting your K tank.
I live in Queensland ,Australia. Postcode 4554. Would you be prepared to pack and post it to me, obviously at my prepaid expense?
If so, could you post/send some phots and price.
Regards
Garry Roberts

Hi Garry.
In theory I would be willing to sell you the K tank and send it to Australia. I appreciate that spares are hard to find where you are, but it would be good for me to be sure that you know how much work may be needed to adapt your frame to accept the tank.
As you probably know, the front of the K tank slips over two spigots on the frame with a rubber buffer in between. At the rear of the tank a nut and bolt go through a bracket on the frame, again with a rubber buffer and bush. Of course you may be a highly skilled and fearless welder/fabricator in which case I shouldn't worry. I shall post some pictures of the mounts on the frame for you to look at and assess.
As for the tank itself. Well it needs paint and badges but there are no discernable dings or dents. You will see in the photos that there is some surface rust but I'm sure it will clean up without any major work. The inside of the tank is clean and rust free as far as I can see.
Price-wise I would be looking for £150 with P&P on top. I have absolutely no idea how much it would cost to send to Australia but we can sort that out as or when the time comes.
In an ideal world, someone may read this thread and offer you an early tank. If that does happen, or if you decide that the K tank will need too much work, that would be fine. It will still be for sale to anyone else, at £150 plus P&P, or free collection in Warwickshire.
Here are the photos...

A bit off topic, but can you fit those rubbers to an old frame and use this type of tank? The rubbers appear to be the same as on later bikes (Excalibur, Kanguro etc), so it could be an easy fit.

The rubbers will be needed to mount a K tank. The issue is the position of the front spigots and the need for a bracket at the rear of the tank. It can be done, but it needs some skill.
See photos for comparison...

Thanks Jen, the front mounts are a bit more to the rear, but this can be done with a fitting like on the before mentioned Excalibur, the one I have was actually fitted to one of those, believe it or not (see pic). On the rear you can just fix it with a rubber band and some rubber underneath I think.

Morini Jen,
Thanks you for such a comprehensive response!
I do have a K in the shed, and a '75 Sport, so I am able to swap tanks over onto the mystery frame to gauge the fit. Fitting some spigots to carry the rubber mounts wouldn't be a big problem.
The tank you have looks as if it could be salvaged albeit with a lot of work.
Of course the major impediment is the shipping cost, which is my problem , not yours.
I will keep looking for now, but would be curious to know of any alternate tanks that anyone has fitted to a Morini frame. A 500 Parallel twin Ducati frame I have actually drops onto the frame, but is 40mm longer. It looks ok teamed up with a single seat BMW base that I also have....
The more pressing need today is a transmission shift drum with worn alloy forks! Aarghhh.
Thanks to Hombre for your info, too.

Hello Gary
How are you getting on with the selector forks? I may have some in a box somewhere. I possibly also have an early (how early do you need?) tank. Also in UK so same postage problems!
Thanks Ian

Hello. Ian,
Sorry, but I have only just seen your reply.
A friend and I are trying to resurrect a road going bike from an incomplete engine and a Strada? frame.
It has had a conrod let go at some time and the cases have been split by some brute.
We have cleaned up the cases and the transmission but it will not select gears reliably.
It does have the early aluminium forks on the shift drum, which show signs of wear. I would be interested in a whole gear set known to be functional, or even in a set of the later, phosphorous bronze? shift forks and drum. We might even go for a set of crankcases plus gbox.
Definitely interested in a fuel tank, 76-77 preferred, but a later one that is not bolted at the front, could be made work.
I do have some parts coming from Northamptonshire, and these could be added to that package.
Would you mind sending photos and prices, shipped to Northamptonshire to
grryroberts@hotmail.com (no 'a' in garry in the email address)
I do have a couple of Morinis in my shed, but it would be fantastic to get this sad pile of parts on Australian roads!
Regards
Garry Roberts
