Indicators Staying On

Post by snatchpiece »

The indicators on my 500 have been working fine but now the don't flash, they stay on. In my simplistic way of thinking I know the bulbs are ok because they all light up, I assume the switch is OK because moving it to the left lights up both left hand indicators and vice versa, also the warning light stays on when the indicators are activated, therefore I assume its the flasher relay unit that's failed unless someone has another theory. All suggestions would be most welcome, thanks.

Or insufficient battery charge?

bad grounding of the relay on the frame (if this is a 3-pole flasher relay)?

Hi, thanks for the replies. The battery is kicking out plenty of volts, the flasher relay has only two contacts so I guess it's not a 3-pole, but correct me if I'm wrong.

then the relay had the best of it's years, try and buy a 3-pole or electronic flasher (they work better then the mechanical 2-poles)
