Frame & wheel colours

Post by markw »

Hi all,

I've nearly completed stripping both my 500's as they are overdue some TLC.

first job is to get the frames & wheels re painted. Any body got any guidance on the correct colours. Both bikes have red frames (Rosso vivo ???) one has silver/grey wheels the other gold.

I cant see a RAL colour code to match , and both frames have faded so cant take a sample of the colour.

any guidance would be a great help.

There is a Lechler colour guide, in Site Suggestions, Rosso Vivo is "MOR A14 ROSSO VIVO".
This is only a guide but at least it may help a little, check out a colour swatch at your local Lechler paint supplier.

Well judging by the rest of the bike, I'd say this one on ebay would be a good place to check the original wheel colour.

The correct colours are the ones you like.

1970's, 80's and even 90's paint varied between batches. Remember when you'd try and buy spray cans with the same batch code?

The Grimeca wheels came in several variations of silver/grey and gold/yellow.
