Warning lights........

It took me a while to work out but I think my 78 Strada 's warning lights are as follows -

Amber (indicators) - makes sense

Blue (high beam) - makes sense

Green - (bike lights on/parking lights, not a neutral light) - unusual

Red - (no bulb or wires visible but from research seems to be "ignition on" rather than oil pressure?) - makes less sense

Is that right please?

Tim

Tim, I'm pretty sure red light is oil pressure - cable runs from pressure switch on left hand side of crankcase on my 500 & labelled in owners manual as "red light oil pressure"

Edit - just checked the photos on Iconic website, pressure switch & cable are present on your bike.

Oil pressure switch came and went. So in the absence of a pressure switch bottom front left of motor you have a red light to tell you the ignition is running.
My K1 has an oil pressure switch. In common with beemers these may leak through the body of the switch.
My later bike has a blanking plug in the place where a switch would screw in. This has an oil light on the “Cagiva type display “ but it is not connected to anything. I find that fact irritating.

Oh yes thank you - I should have spotted that! I shall follow that along and see of it leads n=me to a dangling bulb and holder which would be nice!
