Hi everyone,
Just joined the group and excited to say I bought a Tresette Sprint. I purchased this for my dad who grew up in Italy riding a Corsaro. Its been sitting in someone's home on display for more than 10 years. Not sure what the plan will be, repaint or leave as is but for now just happy he can enjoy it. Im located in New York, USA , so I appreciate MRC allowing me to join the group. Happy to share whatever I can.

If there are any other vintage Morini folks here in the states , please reach out.
File sizes seem to be limited otherwise I would share photos.

Thanks everyone. Dads 80, so Im not going to spend any downtime on a resto. I'll post more pics as we get into it. It was stored indoors but hasn't run in years so I've had the piston sitting in some mystery oil. It will get the once over today and started, X fingers crossed. If all checks out its heading for a state inspection.

Need to work with the club to get its serial number registered.

Yes thanks Arthur. Dad and I attended our first show this weekend. It was more a Triumph and classic car show but we received lots of likes. The bike is running great now but the clutch will be in need of some attention.

The clutch engages close the end of the lever travel. Im sure it will survive for now , but id like to start looking for new one. The Surflex parts list for the Tresette sprint calls for part 1040, but I do not have this type of clutch. Mine is the spring hook type , like clutch used in part 1038 and 1039. The clutch basket part # seems the same across all 3 (1038, 1039 & 1040) , which would lead me to believe the diameter of the discs would be the same?? I found a brand new set for 1039, Im curious if anyone knows if these plates and discs are interchangeable.

I am pleased to hear that you and your Dad are enjoying the bike.

As far as the clutch goes, well, as the baskets have the same part number the plates and discs should all be the same outside diameter. My only concern is that the number of internal teeth that engage on the 'Innesto' may be different? The 'Spingidischi' is also different according to whether there are cups and screws or springs. I don't know if it is possible to convert to cups and springs if you can find the parts?

Hopefully someone else will chip in as I'm not all that familiar with Tressettes.

I think I may have confused myself.

S 1038 and S 1039 have the same clutch centre (Innesto) and outer plate (Spingidischi) and springs and the clutch baskets are the same but the plates/discs have different numbers and S 1039 has more of them than S 1038.

All opinions welcome.
