tank stained with lead replacement

A number of years ago my grandad spilt lead replacement on
the tank of his morini. I have since inherited the bike and i love it.
i love everything apart from the pink stain that runs from the cap down
the side of the tank. Is there any way to remove this without damaging
the tank or paintwork?

Hi Ben, has the fuel eaten the paint or just stained it? I can only think of a gentle rub with T-cut to see what happens. good luck!
