removing choke cable from carb

Has anyone got an easy method for this? I'm used to the 3/12 and therefore no choke cable (much preferred)
I want to take the carb. right off the bike to give it a good clean

Undo screw and remove. Be careful the spring does not ping away. If you tension the cable from the lever and place choke in plastic bag and tie around the cable to seal just in case you should be ok. If the cable comes away from the plunger all the bits fall in the bag. Just my way.
