Fantastic - thanks for sharing that with us all. Looks like a stunning trip and glad that both the rider and the bike survived the experience!

It'd be good to see the story in the MRC magazine, along with some of those pictures - hopefully we might hear more from the rider!

Great to see a GP in the desert. The gearing is referred to a couple of times as being too high. This is also a bit of a problem when in slow moving traffic anywhere hot. I commute into London on my GP from time to time, and it doesn't like 20-25 mph much. The standard sprockets are 17/42, but it looks like it is possible to get MM specific sprockets with 16/45+ on the following link:

Has anybody tried this? Are there any pitfalls to look out for aside from worse fuel economy at high speed?

Lots of good products on their site - not just for GP, but also for the Corsaro;

Sprockets, Fork Guards, Batteries (Yuasa YTX20CH BS 12v -18ah for the person asking), etc., etc. Worth bookmarking that one...
