Two Morini 500s being auctioned for charity

Post by morini_tom »

A long standing club member has very generously donated two Morini 500s to the MS society, to be auctioned on the 16th February at the Iconic Motorcycle sale at the MCN London Motorcycle Show 2025/

The entire hammer price is to be donated directly to the Multiple Sclerosis Society (Iconic Motorcycles have generously agreed to waive any fees on this occasion).

Both bikes are original UK registered and both benefit from extensive work carried out by Benjy Straw recently.

Both are excellent Motorcycles in original trim, with history.

More information on the MS society can be found on their website here: https://www.mssociety.org.uk/

Auction details on the Iconic Auctioneers website here: https://www.iconicauctioneers.com/the-i ... 16/ipp-100

They look nice. The grey Strada in particular is a bit different. The website says there will be a buyers premium of 18%. Are they donating that to the MS charity as well?

Well I'll certainly be bidding on one of them & hope they do really well, although only recently rejoined the Morini fold (1200 scrambler bought Aug 2023) I've owned three 500s in the past, but more importantly we lost my sister in law to MS in 2020 & the MS society is funding some very good research into the cruel disease.

Just for the record, those figures include the buyers fee of 15% which was also donated to the MS Society by iconic auctions.

It's been 4.5yrs since my sister in law passed away with MS & 19yrs since I sold my last 500, so I was quite happy to bid away.

I bought the other (grey one), the MCN article caught my eye because my Aunt died of MS and I've always wanted a Morini as well. This is my first one. It's had loads done to it but it is due a cambelt which will be too much for me I think so I'll get a battery first and we'll see what's what. Cheers.

Tim, looks like we have both been touched by MS & seemingly local to each other, so I'm guessing you'll be getting your bike tomorrow too?
