Re: 1983 31/2 master cylinder

A cheap master cylinder from AliExpress works very well indeed (their braded steel brake lines are good too!)

Just to add my $0.02 worth - the indicators have provision for an earth wire - I highly recommend utilizing this

Re: Engine Oil

I use Penrite MC4ST 20W-50 motorcycle premium mineral oil. It has "FULL ZINC MAXIMUM PROTECTION". My 1979 Honda CBX gearbox is the smoothest it's ever been with this oil. I noticed other oils I had used for years steadily reduced their zinc levels.

Re: Clutch question

When I was rebuilding the engine on my '76 3 1/2 Sport I broke the clutch basket and had to buy a whole 2nd hand clutch from Germany. So, I have a few spare steel plates. If you PM me your address I'll pop it in the post. It may take a little while to arrive, because I'm in Australia... Trevor https...

Re: Clutch question

The replacement cables I have bought have ALL had an inner that was too long. This is my solution: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/52261656862_3ebba2ec3a_c.jpg It's a long aluminium cap head screw, with the centre drilled and a slot made with a Dremel. I also have one of these on my Honda CB350 ...

Re: Grimeca front caliper replica?

I've seen one NOS one for sale in the last few years. Mdina have the seal kits. If you need new pistons, they are in short supply. If you have access to a lathe, there are Landrover ones that can be turned down to fit (they're a bit too long). I recently buggered the inner seat of the bleeder on min...

Re: Clutch question

Believe it or not, carburetor tune can have a huge impact on clutch action. If both slides are not lifting at the same time, it can induce a fair amount of clutch shudder.
