Camel 501

Post by Chips1953 »

I need to remove a machine from my garage, so if anyone is interested then I would like to part company with my 501.
There is a rebuild thread in the forum and a picture in ATG.
Make me an offer and you may be the lucky owner.

Hi Micky
Just got a Triumph Trophy 1200 (1999 model) because Christine won't go on any of the others, seems a little claustrophobic, almost difficult to breathe, so I have to amputate something.
Oh well, I'm sure it will heal.

The bike has a stainless exhaust system to the cans. Stainless Castle nuts.
The frame, swinging arm and rear subframe have been powder coated, the swinging arm re bushed.
The tank and all red fairing items have been resprayed, the seat recovered by the recommended people in B'ham at a cost of £80.00. (in Blue)
The air box is new and there is a K@N air filter for it with new jets to allow for the correct breathing.
New decals are on the bike which was re fixed using stainless steel fixings.
There is a replacement rear wheel with stainless spokes.
The sprockets are new as is the chain.
It's all there, so don't be shy make me an offer, you never know I mat accept.
This is a genuine 501 engine, with plenty of grunt but not a high top speed.
6 volt electrics.
It also comes with a cut down seat to allow easy access to the bike, finished in green.
A complete bike with spares.
Thanks for looking.

hi there
this sounds nice... and maybe a stablemate for my Kanguro. Unfortunately caught up in a long and apparently fruitless [i.e.going no-where] house move at the moment but could be interested :D
