Cylinder inlet stub
Hello - the metal inlet stub in the cylinder that the carb to cylinder rubber attaches to has some play in it -about 1 cm rotation - how do I go about tightening it ? Thanks -Duncan

If it's loose, then it may well have fretted and worn the threads. I'd suggest taking it out and cleaning the threads with solvent (brake cleaner is good) and then using some thread locking compound. The inlet stub has a couple of notches in it that you can put a flat bar through to tighten.

Re: Cylinder inlet stub
Thanks I was unsure whether to use thread lock thinking it sets quite hard and it might find its way down into the cylinder. What I have noticed is the carb to engine rubbers have nearly gone again - they are getting to be a yearly consumable - Duncan

Recently I had the same problem. Normally these tubes are very dificult to get them out if wanted. And sometimes also to fit them. I´ve made a tool to be able to atack with a bit more power, using a"nut" that just enters in the tube :

Re: Cylinder inlet stub
I ordered some rubber-ware from Startgomma on 5th June and it's arrived and fitted 7th June, includedthe proper D- shaped grommet for the generator lead. Best part of the bike!
