I’m an IoM resident (Peel), and may be able to help if anyone has problems at the Manx.
I’m going to try to make contact with the owners of the Highlander to ask about a photo shoot.
If any (most?) of MRC members are in the VMCC, the Manx Rally is definitely worth doing, and we could have a group within that.
I’m biased, but Peel is a great spot for lining up on the prom!
See you in August…
Hi Kevin, and thanks for offering to contact the Highlander residents! I would say yes please do that-I did speak to another Island resident a couple of weeks ago who lives in Port Erin, he was going to try but I haven't heard anything back from him since. It can't hurt if you both ask-I hope!
I agree too that Peel is not only a great spot for a line up but is also the best town on the island :) Whenever I'm coming over Peel is my 1st choice. A great selection of pubs and restaurants/cafes etc along with my favourite place for a kipper cob-at the breakwater kiosk (at least since Moores smokehouse closed  )
If you get any contact with the Highlander please let Tom know or us here on the forum, and thanks for the offer.

I’ve been to the Highlander a few times and got no answer, but reading the local paper last week I saw that the owner has just passed away, aged only 64, so maybe they were too busy to deal with visitors.
I think it might be a bit insensitive to bother them now, perhaps the Crosby Hotel would be suitable?
I could ask the landlord to reserve a space for the club if we have an idea of numbers…

Kevin thanks for trying. Yes I expect the relations have other things on their minds for now. I'll ask if Chris has any other plans or arrangements in mind.

Thanks Guys;

We will work something out and post the result on here and with the WhatsApp group as and when. If you're going t the Island and want to be kept informed ask for details of the group on here...

Rest assured, we will ensure that a pub visit or two is included in the itinerary!

Good riding,

Hi everyone. With great regret I will not be able to join you on Mona's Isle due to health issues and family circumstances. As a founder member that floated the idea of a MRC 50th Anniversary celebration at the classic TT I feel really guilty for bailing out of the trip. I can only hope that all goes well for those going over and that you all have a good time.

Pete, it must have been a difficult decision for you. Thank you so much for floating the idea of the club that's given me and many people a great deal of pleasure over the years. Do you have any vignettes you're willing to share from the early days of the club's formation? And any photos, etc?

All the best with the current health and family issues. Hope to see you about on your Morini soon.

Thanks for the best wishes Julian.
'The Founder' ,Simon Pancheri, must take all the credit for instigating that first meeting at The Highlander in June 1975 that I still remember attending. Perhaps I'll send the editor something for ATG. Hopefully, someone on the trip will do a report on this year's gatherings.
