Oil Pump “pump junction ring”

Post by Cactus »

I’ve solved my clutch spacer issue.
Next issue is!
Is it normal for the left side engine cover ( not crankcase) to needing to be pulled down the last 2-3 mm with the screws to compress the neoprene ‘sleeve’ (part no. 23.02.18 pump junction ring in parts book) by between oil pump discharge and oil gallery intake in that cover?

Yes. Original neoprene bit had a conical face towards the cover, more recent ones are straight. Conical needed around 1mm 'compression', newer type nearer 2mm.

Phew, thanks George, that’s a relief! Seems I’m on the right track.
