1977 Sport

(Much modified; although the bike might be quicker, I’m getting slower…) Standard Sport engine & cam but with 400cc Nicasil barrels from a Dart Roy Thursby floating disc up front (saves 1kg of un-sprung weight) Calliper rebuilt a couple of years ago with new seals, s/s pistons and s/s brake hose. 12mm master cylinder for better brake control (original Grimeca 16mm master cylinder available if required) NLM’s progressive fork springs s/s fork brace & mudguard mount, tapered bearings for the steering head. Trailtech electronic speedo/revcounter so you know what’s really happening not Veglia’s vague indications (Veglia clocks available if required) Suede racing seat if required (NB. keep it out of the rain!) Alternator was rewound about 10 years ago Artesiani rearsets 520 chain kit (same as Dart/Kanguro) reduces un-sprung weight at the rear 39 tooth rear sprocket Scott oiler for chain Vacuum operated petrol tap New wheel bearings front and rear Road Rider tyres[353]

£4500 ono

1977 31/2 Strada in red

It was running and roadworthy when it was laid up in the garage a little over a year ago, although it is longer than that since Trevor rode it regularly. It currently has no MOT but from end of May will not require one as it will fall within the new classic category. It has cast wheels but no electric start. I would describe it as good condition. Would benefit from a little tarting up but not too shoddy. We are parting with it now as I am having to be honest about how many bikes I can sensibly maintain and run myself. (EDITORS NOTE: This is NOT Christine’s bike from the article!!)[353]

We would consider £2400 ono

Offers around £3500

Dart 350

Purchased a year ago from NLM who imported it from Italy. For sale due to too many bikes. Now showing 19,584km (12,393m) and done just 273 miles since purchase. In very nice condition, needs nothing, the only thing I’ve bought was a new battery. New MOT when sold. Could deliver within reasonable distance from Stockport.[350]
